Wow :D. The way you painted really shows the piece's feeling of loss!

The amount of detail you put, especially in the rain and the extra textures, really catches the eye.
The glow for specific parts of the piece, such as the woman, helps make it pop out in the gloomy
background. Finally: roses. They're perfect.

The only nick-pick I have about the piece is that there's a lack of rain splashes, and the few that I
can see look a little lonely; a lot more could of emphasized the intensity of the rain (or perhaps it
would of been distracting?)

You did really well coloring Jazza's line art. Good luck in the COTM!
[I'm also entering, so I always look at the competition XD]

Iancau responds:

Thanks! :D

There's that darn holiday spirit XD. This family-photo-like picture is drawn well.

Perhaps some of the body anatomy and the perspective on the faces could be altered a little,
such as the kid the the right who has a bit of a big head (or maybe it's that the eyes are the same size?).
There could also be shading, in addition to the highlights you gave, above their eyes. Eyes are like spheres;
they have both dark and light spots.

Happy holidays!

Wimlo responds:

Thank you very much!
I will have all this in mind next time I redraw it! (:
The shading got all over the place. There actually is shading in the eyes, but it got way to subtle to notice in the end. I'll keep an 'eye' on it in the future! (no pun intended)
Happy holidays to you too!

First: he looks epic :D. Really like how most of the piece is in some kind of orange.

The photo-bashing gives the image a different feel (which is cool as well). It's not worse or better in
my opinion :/. It just gives the piece a different and more realistic textured feel.

Wanted to give some decent input -u- . It's a great drawing, if I haven't said yet.

This random person wishes good luck to your husband's Twitch channel!

Olivitree responds:

:D Hey thanks very much for the input! I think you're right, its different not better or worse. Another tool for the tool belt I reckon!

;) also thank you for the wishing us good luck, we are going to need it that is for sure, haha.

Wow :D; looks really epic, and well drawn/colored.

How'd you get those cloud effects in the background? Curious -u-

creativecarrah responds:

The explosion clouds or the kind of cloudy effect of the sky?
The sky was honestly a mistake but I liked the look - my markers were running low on ink and made patches.

The explosions were focused heavily on smut and actual fire and it's hard to explain unless i provide a reference as example.. i made it look more smoky by using a nearly empty N4 copic marker.

Just a question; any way to flip it right side up, so that it's easier to view the artwork? Thanks :D.

FluffsAteRyanK responds:

YA i will try to fix it thanks for letting me know

Using those grey tones were really effective!

Also, I'm guessing you wanted the roses and the lady-ghost to be the focus, since they are colored?

Bassksksk responds:

Thank you! That indeed one of the reasons why i only coloured them.

Just wanted to ask: any particular story behind the illustration?

Other than that, this is a real nice drawing. Not sure if this is useful, but maybe the arm father
from the camera can be a little smaller than the one closer to the camera since it's father away?

Happy holidays!

HavokWyvern responds:

I think I see that, if I rotated it inward a bit more that would work. Then the present would be more concentric in the image and stand out better. Thanks for your input :)

There's something nice when looking at pixely sprites. Nice job :D.

LaddyLegasus responds:

Thanks ^^

Everything about this looks like it could be a painting in real life, from the person's smile to the texture of the brush; it looks like paint! Can't stop smiling :D !

kittenbombs1 responds:

Thanks

Like the weapon design; the shape and color between the bland and handle is different in a good way. The drawing itself is a little rough, but it's a cool concept. Good luck on your series!

Nofaceanimates responds:

Thanks:)
