Pretty fun composition. It reminds me of elaborate illustrations in some Medieval European books. The line art is also really clean, though you could take it even further and increase the line thickness in some parts to make the figure really stand out.

Really fun to see, and happy holidays!

He looks really fun to work with, big enough to be intimidating but with sweet with desserts.

If he replaces every dessert of his original body, is he still Birthday?

ZeTrystan responds:

To be honest, I'm not sure! I guess he still has to keep his core cake center ahah.

In addition to the awesome swirls of the water moving, the eel stands out with its menacing and goofy eyes. The whole design is very clean!

ExtinctionArts responds:

Thank a lot! It’s one I’m very happy with!

Red and black really pops, along with those textured and rhythmic brush strokes on the bottom panel.

Good luck this Inktober!

Q: I really like the squeeze of the space and how much my eye is drawn towards the figure. After sketching the figure, how do you decide to frame and cut certain parts of the figure? Is there such thing as cutting off too much?

Beezims responds:

Aw, thank you so much!! I think cutting out some of the parts closest to the viewer(though not all of it) helps the illusion of depth/movement!! When sketching the figure, I thought a lot about the golden spiral or how the eye naturally moves on the page. I think when it comes to how much cutting off, it depends on what you want the piece to say! For example, I wanted to imply movement, so I cut off some parts to suggest they were just moving out of frame ^^ I hope this helps!!

What a wacky but fun crew you got there.

Good luck on the open seas :)

ZeTrystan responds:

Thanks! Hoping that we survive! ahah

I think they're more than speeding.

Really like the blues of the road with the viridian-ish greens of the car.

EDIT: Whoops! I didn't recognize it as phlatho green; learning about new colors is interesting. Yeah, it's an amazing color :) .

unibrawn responds:

phthalo green, one of my favorite pigments

I don't know why, but this version of Garfield reminds me of a racoon.
I like how you used the blue-purple color as a shadow color, and it contrasts very well with the yellow spotlight.

ExtinctionArts responds:

Thank you :) I see it too lol

Despite the nice rainbowy colors, it's getting pretty dark near the ground. It's both joyful yet ominous. I would probably not want to camp there for the night.

The composition of the whole piece is really cool. My focus went from the front to the back like following the evolution of the little lizard to the big dragon. Great work :)

ocioilustracion responds:

thanks!
