The muted colors and emptiness makes me feel like I'm trying to search for something, just as the person in the image is looking at their reflection. Also wonder what caught their surprise in the window to drop their bags.

Despite the cute appearance he still feels intimidating. Not cranky, but kind of a stiff-necked vibe.
Happy birthday @Takakakalot

I can definitely see how the cliffs and pages point towards the center. Simple but effective :)
The multi-directional hatching on the sword also stands out to me since it looks cool and makes the sword different than the texture of the other objects.
Great job :D
Thank you!
Great to see you again as well :D, and awesome penwork as usual.
Thank you friend, happy to see you here too :)
I like the textures with the simple lineart. What material did you use to get that texture?
i did a rough drawing on paper, coated the back of it with compressed black charcoal and red chalk, then traced the drawing onto a new page!
One particular detail that you captured was the foggy texture of the clouds to the left as the clouds collide or drift away from the mountain.
Overall, I think I understand why this is a meh study, with the broad, even strokes and general color placement. Still, the colors and landscape feel cohesive and it's still enjoyable to view.
If you wanted to work more on this piece, what would be your first focus?
Thanks.
Probably edges and detail. I think I got the structure, color, and values down. Just needs to be cleaned up a bit.
With the darkness of the stronghold and the spooky vibes, it's like the creeper is dancing towards me with intimidation.
I can imagine hiking in this forest. I like the cool shadows, especially to the right as it extends on.
Did you take the reference picture?
Thanks.
No, it was from Noah Bradley
I like the overall colors and pose of the character, contrasting the primary blue with highlights of yellow.
You could darken the shadows on the figure. I can imagine the character is on a stage with a spotlight on them, and that would create some sharp and dark shadows. You could also bring out more the qualities of the metal body and how reflective the metal is. There are some highlights on the torso, but overall the metal feels matte/flat.
Overall, solid work :)
Oh, I see now...
Well, I'll make sure to get the lighting and highlights right the next time, thanks for your review!
